Ishan Kishan excluded

In a conversation with ESPNCRICINFO, Deep Dasgupta named his playing XI for the Sri Lanka series. He has selected Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw for the opening slot. They were in great touch in the first half of the IPL 2021. Sanju Samson and Surya Kumar Yadav got their name into his team. Surprisingly, he didn’t pick up Ishan Kishan for his poor form in the IPL.

Former Bengal captain has picked Manish Pandey to strengthen the middle order. Manish Pandey failed to make his mark in the IPL, though he has got the chance. Rahul Tewatia and Hardik Pandiya are selected as an all-rounder. Both of them had average IPL season. Rahul Chahar is selected ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal. Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Deepak Chahar are the three primary pacers to lead the team.
