Australia vs India: Australia managed to beat India in the opening game of the T20 series played at Vizag. The bowlers did an excellent job for the visitors to see India scored 126 runs in their 20 overs. Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jason Behrendorff, and Pat Cummins picked up wickets for Australia and shared five wickets between them.

In reply, Australia managed to win the game on the final ball of the innings and take 1-0 in the two-match T20I series. The second game of the series will be played on Friday at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Rohit Sharma could not do much with the bat in the opening game in Vizag. India will be hoping that he can deliver something special to help them level the T20I series. Indian Captain Virat Kohli and Lokesh Rahul played well and helped India post a modest total on the board. Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik and Krunal Pandya perished for low scores. MS Dhoni once again produced timid innings and scored unbeaten 29 off 37 balls to see India fall way short of a good score on the surface in the first game.

Vijay Shankar might replace Dinesh Karthik for this game while pacer Siddharth Kaul will be slotted into the XI in place of Umesh Yadav, who went wicketless in the first game in Vizag. Pacer Jaspreet Bumrah was a standout performer in the game played in Vizag with three wickets to his name.


Australia will be hoping that they can continue their good show with the bat and ball in a bid to clinch the T20I series. Captain Aaron Finch poor continued as perished for another duck in the previous game. Marcus Stoinis also failed to produce anything despite being promoted to open the innings in the game played in Vizag.

Glenn Maxwell was the star of the show with 56 off 43 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. He was well supported by D’Arcy Short, who scored 37 runs with the help of five boundaries.

In the bowling department, the likes of Adam Zampa, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Jason Behrendorff chipped in clinical performances to help Australia take lead in the T20I series.
