Virat Kohli was also rested for the Asia Cup in September last year after a grueling tour of England. He made his return for the home series against West Indies. He also featured in all the games played in Australia across three formats. Virat Kohli once again played well and produced a much-needed score to help India notch a comfortable eight-wicket win over New Zealand in the opening game of the one-day series in Napier.

Kohli has shown incredible form for India over past 12 months. He scored runs for India in all conditions i.e England, Australia, and South Africa. He certainly made history when he won all the awards in the ICC’s cricket awards. He won Cricketer of the Year, Test and ODI Player of the Year. He was also nominated as the captain for the ODI and Test teams of the year by the ICC.

After the conclusion of New Zealand series, India will play two T20s and five ODIs against Australia at home that will start from 24th February in Bengaluru. The five-match one-day series will begin from 2nd March in Hyderabad. BCCI will also announce the schedule for upcoming Indian Premier League that is slated to begin from 23rd March. The league will be played much earlier due to World Cup being played this year in England.
