Rajasthan Royals appoint Paddy Upton as the new coach for coming IPL season

Rajasthan Royals have appointed Paddy Upton as the new head coach for the franchise for the coming season of Indian Premier League. Upton has also previously been the head coach for the Rajasthan Royals from 2013 till 2015. He then moved on to be a part of the support staff for Delhi Daredevils for 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Upton has a commendable amount of experience working around the world. He also helped Sydney Thunder clinch their maiden crown in the Big Bash League. He was also the part of the support staff for India that went on to win 2011 Cricket World Cup played at home.
He served as a Performance Director for Cricket South Africa and also worked in various capacities in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Rajasthan Royals Head of Cricket, Zubin Bharucha said that Paddy Upton has a wealth of experience and knowledge due to his various coaching stints across the globe. He has worked with a lot of teams and is well acquainted with the rigors of the modern-day cricket. The franchise is pleased to have him back as head coach of the side for the coming Indian Premier League season.

Rajasthan Royals owner Manoj Badale also expressed his pleasure of naming Paddy Upton as head coach of the side for the coming season. He also said that Upton is also well acquainted with team culture and environment of Rajasthan Royals in order to achieve success in the coming season of the Indian Premier League. He said that Rajasthan will be keen to go the distance in this year’s Indian Premier League and is pleased that the competition in India.

Steffan Jones is the bowling coach for Rajasthan Royals. Amol Muzumdar is the batting coach for the franchise. Sairaj Bahutale is the spin bowling coach for the Royals.
