Pakistan have named their 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia.

The opening game of the series will be played on 24th October at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Left-arm quick bowler Mohammad Amir has been dropped from the side due to his poor form in limited-overs cricket.

Uncapped Waqas Maqsood has earned his maiden-call-up to the national side after his decent performances for Pakistan A side. Sahibzada Farhan and Hussain Talat make their way into the limited-overs squad for three-match T20I series against Australia.

Maqsood has played small number of T20 games and has picked up a lot of wickets. His decent performances against New Zealand A side helped his maiden call-up to the national side. Left-arm spinner Imad Wasim also makes a return to the squad after clearing fitness Tests being monitored by selection committee during the domestic competition. Wasim was overlooked for the Asia Cup played in UAE due to his fitness issues. The all-rounder failed to clear the fitness Test on two occasions.

Opener Sahibzada Farhan did made his debut for Pakistan during the tri-nation series against Australia. He was dismissed for a duck in that only T20 game and also had an average series against New Zealand. Many cricket pundits were surprised with Farhan retaining his place in the T20 squad despite not doing much with the bat.

Mohammad Hafeez will be keen to do well after his splendid ton in the first game of the Test series against Australia played at Dubai.

Pakistan Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed will be hoping that his side can continue their good form in the T20 format.
