India aim for a clean sweep against West Indies

West Indies will be keen to produce a better show with bat and ball after losing the first game to India by an innings and 272 runs. The batting lineup failed to adjust to the conditions as Indian spinners picked up wickets at regular intervals. India completed a comprehensive win inside three days to take 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

India will be relieved after getting that win under their belt at Rajkot. It has been a hard 12 months for Virat Kohli and co. as they lost Test series in South Africa and England. Big positives from first game of the series were Prithvi Shaw getting a century on his debut and Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling performance in the second innings.

There is will questions mark whether Ajinkya Rahane has booked his place for Australia. The middle-order needs a big score in this game to gain necessary confidence ahead of India’s tour to Australia. Lokesh Rahul also will be keen to get runs here after registering a duck in the game played at Rajkot.

For West Indies, there is good news as Kemar Roach and Jason Holder will be available for this game. The visitors will need to produce their best game if want to push India close at Hyderabad. India have notched up dominant victories at the venue in the last three games.

Kraigg Brathwaite, Kieran Powell and Shai Hope will need to produce runs with the bat in this game. Powell did score 80-odd runs in the second innings of the first game and will be keen to continue his good form in this game as well. Keemo Paul will be replaced by Kemar Roach, who missed the series opener due to personal reasons. Shannon Gabriel has a slight injury concern and will need to go through a fitness Test to play the game. Sherman Lewis is back-up bowler in case Gabriel is sidelined due to injury. Left-arm Jomel Warrican might replace Sunil Ambris, if the pitch is on the drier side.
